Whistler Bike Park and Giant Teaming up for 2012
Whistler Mountain Bike Park and Giant are excited to announce they will be working together for the 2012 season. The filming of Portlandia Season 2 is in progress. We know for a fact that the bike theme will continue into next season… as we lent them two of our single speed bikes! The SE Draft Lite and SE Lager will be famous! Or win Oscars for supporting roles, whatever. We don’t know exactly how much airtime they got, although the producer emailed us this snapshot of Fred Armistan and Carrie Brownstein on the bikes; proving that they did get their 5 minutes of fame. Colby Wait-Molyneaux, Hammer/CMG headed to Worlds
Local speedster and Bike n Hike sponsored rider Colby Wait-Molyneaux (Hammer/CMG) earned himself a spot aboard the 2011 US World Championship squad. His win at the Tour de l’Abitibi back in July earned him an automatic spot in the time-trial and a discretionary spot on in the road race. The 2011 UCI Championships are September 19-25th in Copenhagen, Denmark. Only seventeen, he’s proved that he’s the guy to beat in both local and national time trials. He’s picked up wins in the Pro/1/2 categories at Jack Frost, High Desert, and Mt. Tabor Criterium.
