Electra Bicycles began in the mid 90s to a market saturated with sporty bikes.  They quickly realized the untapped potential for bikes that were fun, comfortable and functional.  Electra calls their innovative design Flat Foot Technology, referring to the crank and pedals position.  With the cranks slightly forward the rider can sit on the seat with their feet flat on the ground, yet still maintain an ergonomic, efficient pedal stroke.  This is perfect for city riding with frequent stop signs or for riders getting back into the sport.  It’s confidence-inspiring and tons of fun to ride. Other companies have since copied this ‘crank forward’ design, because, well, it works so well!
