Are you inspired by all-mountain riding but still seeking the nimbleness and climbing process of cross-country bike?  More and more pro XC racers are choosing, and winning on, 29″ wheels.  You don’t have to give up the climb, the Anthem X 29er offers the same precise headtube and seattube angles of a cross country frame, yet the bigger wheels enable it to ride like a all-mountain rig.  Big wheels are stupid fast, maintain momentum, and handle rocks and roots with ease.

In it’s first year it’s proven the marriage of speed and agility winning the Downieville Classic All-mountain race and taking second in the Super D race at U.S. Nationals.

“The Anthem X 29er was loaded for bear,” Decker said. “Big brakes, big bars, big tires, big fork, seat dropper, and still only 26.4 pounds. I always come away from Downieville amazed at how a bike can stand up to that kind of abuse. That is some fast and gnarly trail.”

Decker won the 26-mile XC race on Saturday by nearly 4 minutes. He was edged out by Aaron Bradford in the following day’s 17-mile DH race by just 5 seconds, a result that landed Decker the All-Mountain world title for another year. – Giant Bicycles Press Release, July 11, 2011

…The perfect bike for cross-country riders who love technical singletrack. It’s also an excellent bike for those with endurance racing in mind. …If you’re like us, then just set the sag, tire pressure and brake levers where you like, and blaze the trail. -Mountain Bike Action

I found it hard to find fault with any performance aspect of the Anthem X 29er. Nope, this is one damn fine XC racer that simply begs to show you what it can do with the trail conditions get burly. - Bike Magazine
